sooooo good! one of my best reads in 2013!

Rock Bottom is a completely captivating, breathtakingly bittersweet love story. I don’t think I took a single breath between the first and last page and I loved every second of it. R.K. Lilley has masterfully created a piece that I will never get tired of re-reading. Every line, every dialogue is packed in every single scene, it’s sooooo good!
The premise is simple enough but Ms. Lilley seems bent on injecting it with her usual angst, you cant help but to be sucked in.
I loved Danika and Tristan.
They are two of the most endearing characters I've ever encountered. They are so admirable, so real, and so human. The tragedy of the story made my heart ache in a happy and in a sad way, as I struggled with them through their self-doubts and fought the battle within to regain the faith they had in their love and each other. I held my breath as I watched the doubt and insecurity creep into their minds, tempered by the frustrations which life often brings, praying that they wouldn't surrender, that their love and faith in each other would prevail.
Did I want to smack Tristan for being a jerk and giving up on Danika’s love after all they have been through? Oh! More than you can imagine! But to be honest, after a few days bawling my eyes out, pulling my hair and trying to figure out why things happened the way it did, I finally came to understand why. That’s the only perfect way to end it…and im only hoping but good things for the next book.
I could go on and on about this book and how much I connected with it, but I want potential readers to discover it's joys for themselves.
This a great love story, full of angst and emotions from one end of the scale to the other, and a very fulfilling conclusion. I could not recommend this book enough. So if you haven’t started the series yet, please, in the name of everything holy go one-click this series. 6 words! THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

Absolutely Gut Wrenching Love Story

Rock Bottom will absolutely gut you. R.K. Lilley seriously will leave you with all the feels after you finish this book. I had serious book hangover after reading book 2. As we know things are spiraling out of control for both Tristan and Danika. Whereas Danika is trying to help Tristan coup with what happened to his brother, Tristan is drowning himself. Tears is a real understatement for Rock Bottom. Floods of tears more like it. Rock Bottom broke my heart and I hope R.K. Lilley will mend it in the last installment. I wanted to chuck my Kindle across the room, enough said. You will love the rollercoaster of emotions, and the dialogue of two very much loved characters fall apart. Love isn’t easy, but can love that is broken be fixed? Only R.K. Lilley will know. Rock Bottom lives up to its name in spades. Box of tissues will be a must and thank goodness book 3 is out or I would be stomping my feet and really throwing things. Well done, best emotional go-to read!

Sexy and Sad

This book starts right after the tragedy from "Bad Things", where Tristan and Danika try to pick up the broken pieces and move on together. The sexual chemistry continued between Tristan and Danika and did not lose any steam. James and Frankie also appear in the story.
Bottomline: "Rock Bottom" focused on the events that eventually lead up to their breakup. I enjoyed the story and it kept me engaged to the point where I wanted to finish it. I'm also impressed with the series as a whole. From reading "Grounded", we already know that their relationship ended very badly and inquiring minds wanted to know why. Book 1 focused on the beginning of their relationship, book 2 on the downward spiral and eventual breakup and book 3 will focus on hopefully mending and getting back together. Based on this alone, I'm totally sucked into the series and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone to come out happy.
Why Not 5 Stars?
The first 60% of the book was mainly about Tristan and Danika getting busy, and they got busy each and every time they were together. For me, I wanted more story and understanding of the relationship other than the sexual component because they were deep into each other. This was all about the sex and at some point it became uneventful.
The last 40% was just too sad, depressing, somewhat unbelievable and rushed. While I guessed totally incorrectly on what happened, I still thought it was rushed and not well thought out and written.
