New mindset

I have read the book Flip It and listened to the audio version numerous times as a reminder to maintain perspective. The book covers multiple areas of your home and work life and provides practical and reasonable ideas to create the world you desire by altering your mindset.

Disjointed, trite and has delusions of grandeur

This book basically promises to help you "get the best out of everything" with a new "simple way of thinking, acting and doing". The main problem is that it contains no such unifying concept, unless you count the very general idea of thinking differently in order to generate different results. The work reads as though somebody has taken about 100 self help websites, put them in a blender, and published the results. Sure, there are a few gems of good advice in there, but there's nothing new, and it isn't even written very well, with a patronizing tone and not much flow. A lot of the material has been lifted from other writers' work with no acknowledgement (eg the section entitled 'Men want to fix things and women want to be heard' is plagiarized almost verbatim from Men and From Mars, Women are from Venus). One star for a few amusing anecdotes.

I couldn't read this book because the print was too light. Disappointing because it looks as if it might be a good read.
