Documentary filmmaker Hope Anderson takes us on a compassionate journey in search of Peg Entwhistle, the young, promising actress who tragically jumped off the Hollywood Sign to her death in 1932. Known primarily for this desperate, impulsive act, she came to symbolize the sad plight of many young women hoping to "make it" in Hollywood, but instead of stardom and wealth, found themselves crushed by rejection and poverty.Thus, Peg Entwhistle became a legend, but who was she?. Ms. Anderson, with the passion of a friendly detective, leads her own investigation with amazing results, which resulted in a film which she wrote and directed. We are there with her, step by step, thanks to a detailed production journal she shares.. Included are photos from the shoot and, ultimately, her thoughtful conclusions about the life of a talented actress, Peg Entwhistle. I learned much from being on this journey.
